STOP with the Supplements!

Nutritional Supplement companies make bank off people who buy in to their marketing ploys. If you bought a supplement in hope to GAIN MASS! LOSE FAT! INCREASE STAMINA! Then you are also one of their victims in their quest of conquering the consumer world.

Please DO NOT WASTE your HARD EARNED money on RIDICULOUS amounts of SUPPLEMENTS. The following are usually bought by people who are looking for a quick "boost" to get them to their goals:
NO (Nitric Oxide) Supplements
WHEY PROTEIN (i.e Muscle Milk, Monster Milk)
CREATINE
MORE PROTEIN
WEIGHT LOSS SUPPLEMENTS
ENERGY SUPPLEMENTS
FAT BURNING SUPPLEMENTS
HYRDOXYCUT
SLIM SHAKES
MORE WEIGHT LOSS SUPPLEMENTS
MULTIVITAMINS
FIBER
BCAA (Branch Chain Amino Acids)
AMINO ACIDS
MORE PROTEIN
FATTY ACID
MORE PROTEIN

you get my point. People always try to get the easy way out because they FEEL like they're too busy to eat right and exercise. Because of this they are willing to spend extra cash to get the edge on getting to their goal to avoid the HARD WORK.

I understand people have priorities, but its not that hard to eat right. Fruits are cheaper than supplements. Cooking or making your own lunch is cheaper than going out to lunch. Eating breakfast can be as simple as eating a bowl of cereal. Eating dinner doesn't have to be some gourmet meal, but a simple one.

I understand people have too many things to do in such little time, I know that first hand, however one should always have time for themselves. Personally I work out 3 times a week on an average month. On more intense months, I'll work out 4 to 5 times a week. However I don't necessarily need an hour a day.

When I train my clients, I focus more on the intensity of their session. They'll be doing 20 to 30 minutes of work, but its CONTINUOUS, HARD, MODERATE TO HIGH INTENSITY WORK. No I don't purposely work them to the ground, but I do focus on technique and form of the movements we are training and make sure they execute each of them perfectly as hard as they can.

One only needs about 3 days a week for 30 to 60 minutes on their own if they want to start losing weight and or getting in shape. One also has to start eating right and stop relying on magic pill supplements.

Through out this blog I will posting some interesting articles and information I have learned about on some of the previous supplements I have listed so stay tuned!

DO WORK!

New Year! Same trend. People always tend to be determined at the beginning of the year to LOSE WEIGHT. They say such things such as "IMMA LOSE 50lbs by MARCH!" or " IMMA GET RIPPED NOW!" or "IMMA TOTALLY DOING 100 SIT UPS A DAY TO GET THAT SIX PACK!"

I'm all for starting on the right foot, however don't stop there! The trend is that hella (a lot) people sign up for these things in January and then quit in March because "It's not working." People usually say "I have no time for the gym," "Having a trainer is too expensive," ," This Fitness class is not working!"

Don't Give Up On Yourself!
Don't Be a Trend!
Don't be a FAIL

Don't be LAZY!

Everyone is capable of getting to their goals. It all comes down to this final question

Do your burn more calories working out in the cold ?

When one is working out, the movement of muscles produces heat within the body. This same heat is used to help the body stay warm in cold temperatures.

During exercise in hotter weather the body must prevent itself from over heating. This is done by the heart not only pumping blood to the muscles that work, but also pumping the heated blood from those muscles to the skin so the extra heat can disperse. The body has to actually work harder in order to keep itself cooler.

So the answer is no, one does not burn more calories when working out in the cold compared to working out in warmer weather.

One would think calories would be burned more in the cold due to shivering, however this question pertains to working out in the cold. When one is exercising, one is producing energy from the muscles of movement which in turn produces heat. Again this body uses this heat to warm itself and shivering is no longer a factor.

WTF Fitness Infomercial

I've been around the fitness industry for quite a few years now. Through experience I've seen many trainers time and time again sell over priced fitness gadgets that give consumers false hopes of 'Six Pack ABS!,' 'Lean & Toned look' with a 'SLENDER WAIST!' Unfortunately, today's society loves to be sold on "magic pill" items and dumps money into any short cut to fitness success. Like a pyramid scheme they build you up and promise you the world, only for you to commit financially and get nothing in return, but WITHOUT FURTHER DUE, through out all the tacky, corny, straight out stupid WTF fitness gadgets, this one is the ULTIMATE FITNESS WTF!?
